10 Spanish beaches to be premiered the Blue Flag this summer
26 July, 2023The list of Blue Flag beaches on the Spanish coast continues to grow, with 10 more beaches being added in 2023 in different areas of the peninsular coastline and also on the islands. Spain continues to lead the ranking of countries with the most Blue Flags in the world, with 729 (of which 627 are for beaches) despite the receding coastline and the severe drought, according to ADEAC.
Among the new additions are beaches such as El Chaparral, in Malaga; Brazomar de Castro-Uridales, in Cantabria; or Far de Sant Cristófol de Vilanova i la Geltrú, in Barcelona. But there are also more atypical beaches, such as the El Cancho del Freno reservoir in Cañamero, in Cáceres; or the natural pool of Jóver, in San Cristóbal de la Laguna, in Tenerife; or the Playamonte lake in Navarrés, in Valencia.
