Gran Canaria’s tourism turnover is 40% higher than before the pandemic

Promotur Turismo de Canarias has published the Aena passenger report for the month of June, which shows that there were 494,002 foreign passengers at Gran Canaria airport in June, 7.1% more than in 2022 and 0.5% more than in 2019. In the accumulated year, from January to June, Gran Canaria counted 3,323,973 passengers, 19.6% more than in 2022 and 2.5% more than in 2019.
In the first quarter, tourism expenditure indicators, with an accumulated turnover of 1,163 million euros, grew by 27% compared to the first quarter of 2022. While there is a 40% increase in this section compared to 2019. The average expenditure per tourist per trip is 1,535 euros, the highest in the Canaries.
