Wine tourism and river cruises, a possible combination in Spain
16 August, 2023The Ribera del Duero Wine and Cava Route has recently launched an innovative initiative to allow tourists to combine visits to the most important wineries in this designation of origin with a river cruise on the Alagón, a river that is particularly well-known because it is the venue for one of the most popular canoe descents in the Spanish summer.
Specifically, the boat used for the river cruise is the Barco de Ceclavín and during the trip there is a tasting of typical local products (including Acehúche cheese) paired with the best cava from Almendralejo. And during the trip, you’ll pass through the Tajo Internacional Biosphere Reserve, an unforgettable natural environment.
This novel experience, offered during the month of August, lasts an hour and a half and takes wine tourism a step further. It is a modality that is increasingly in demand and the Spanish tourism sector is striving to develop increasingly attractive and exclusive experiences, adapted to visitors’ profile.
