10% more passengers at Spanish airports than in 2022

There were 9.1 million passengers from international airports who went to Spain in June, 10% more than the same month in 2022 according to data published by Turespaña. In the first six months of the year there were 43 million passengers, representing 24.3% more than in the same period of 2022.

For the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Héctor Gómez, “we continue with extraordinary data that demonstrates the growth potential of tourism in Spain, which translates into higher income and an increase in the number of workers in the tourism sector. For the remainder of the year, the forecasts are extraordinary”.

Passengers to Spain from all major countries increased in June. The UK generated 25.1% of the total number of passengers, registering a year-on-year increase of +9.8%. This growth had a particular impact on the Balearic and Canary Islands, which were the destination of 28.0% and 20.6% of its passengers. Passenger arrivals from Germany (14.5% of the total) decreased by -0.3%, especially benefiting the Balearic Islands (48.5% of passengers).
