A Gran Canaria hotel to be the first to offer the Riu Party
30 August, 2023The Riu Gran Canaria resort has opened after a complete refurbishment. The 4-star All-Inclusive 24-Hour hotel boasts a new design and features new facilities, restaurants, bars and services. In addition, the new Riu Gran Canaria will introduce a great attraction in its entertainment offer: the famous Riu Parties. These colourful parties will arrive for the first time on the island of Gran Canaria at the end of the year.
In 2011, Riu began a renovation plan for its entire hotel offer. These are major refurbishment projects that modernise and upgrade the category of all the hotels. This is a circular and never-ending process because the renovation usually takes place every 10 to 12 years, so when all the hotels in an area are renovated, it’s the turn of the first ones again.
And this is the case of the Riu Gran Canaria hotel, which was completely refurbished in 2013 and now becomes the first to start this second round of extensive renovation. This project has opted for self-consumption of electricity through the installation of photovoltaic panels on the entire roof of the hotel, while the electricity consumed from the grid is certified as coming from renewable sources.
