The best city in Europe to visit on foot is Spanish

6 September, 2023

Andalusian capital, Seville, is declared best city in Europe to visit on foot thanks to having the shortest tourist route linking its five most visited tourist attractions. Two other Spanish cities are also in the top 18: Madrid and Barcelona.

The study has been carried out by Preply (an online language learning platform) and is based on walking distances and the number of steps separating the five main tourist attractions in each of the 30 most visited cities in Europe.

As a result, Seville takes the lead for having the shortest route for tourists to see its five most-visited attractions on foot: the Plaza de España, the Royal Alcazar of Seville, the Seville Cathedral, the barrio de Santa Cruz and the Giralda tower. "Just 20 minutes apart, you can travel between all these places on foot," explains the abovementioned source.
