New 5* hotel with golf course to be built on the outskirts of Palma
4 October, 2023Palma City Council has granted planning permission to the company Golf Park Entertainment Mallorca S.A. for the construction of a 5-star hotel in an area adjacent to the Puntiró golf course. The project has a budget of 10.2 million euros. The hotel, located in Puntiró, 10 kilometres from Palma, will occupy an area of 13,183m2 and will have 173 rooms.
The application was submitted in 2019 and the construction project was approved in March 2022. However, it is an older project and even went to court. The Consell de Mallorca refused to declare the project of general interest, considering that it was located on land protected as an Area of Agricultural Interest.
At the time, the courts ruled in favour of the developer, which had to start the proceedings again and the building permit has eventually just been granted.
