A Spanish company will operate commercial flights to the stratosphere
11 October, 2023From 2025, the Spanish company HALO Space will offer a safe and environmentally responsible way to travel to the stratosphere to appreciate “space and the majesty of the curvature of the Earth” in a suborbital flight lasting between 4 and 6 hours. By 2029, it plans to make 400 commercial space flights and carry 3,000 passengers a year, for which they will have to pay between 100,000 and 200,000 euros per ticket.
The experience, in a nine-person capsule, will allow passengers to enjoy incredible views of space and the curvature of the Earth, on a journey lasting between 4 and 6 hours. HALO Space was created with “the ambitious goal of offering a new way of space tourism to the stratosphere, in an environmentally responsible way and with the same level of safety as commercial aircraft”.
The goal of this innovative Spanish company is to open the doors to this unique and special experience to the general public, with commercial flights starting in 2025, when it plans to obtain certification from the US Federal Aviation Agency (FAA).
