H10, the first chain to certify the calculation of its carbon footprint

18 October, 2023

H10 Hotels has obtained the CO2 Calculated Compliance Certificate from the prestigious certifying entity AENOR, becoming the first hotel chain to calculate its carbon footprint and to obtain this certification. AENOR has verified the calculation of the greenhouse gas emissions derived from the hotel group’s activity in 2022, applying the international reference methodology Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol).

This certification, which will be updated annually, demonstrates the chain’s transparency and commitment to sustainability, established in its Stay Green plan, according to which H10 Hotels is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions per stay by 75% by 2030 compared to 2010 levels.

The calculation of the hotel chain’s relative emissions in 2022 was 6.5 kg CO2 equivalent per stay, with 2.2 kg CO2 eq./stay corresponding to Scope 1 and 4.3 kg CO2 eq./stay to Scope 2, one of the lowest ratios among the values published for hotel establishments. H10 Hotels has chosen AENOR for this important auditing process as it is one of the most prestigious international certifying bodies.
