Vueling, chosen best airline of the year in Routes World 2023
8 November, 2023Vueling, the low-cost operator of the IAG group, has been chosen as the best airline of the year at the Routes World 2023 annual conference, which brought together the world’s route development and air connectivity community, held in Istanbul in mid-October.
The award recognises airlines that have provided significant support to airports and destinations to generate sustainable economic growth in the regions. In the case of Vueling, it highlights the hard work and commitment to developing a more sustainable future for the airline and its partners, with a key focus on long-term partnerships and profitable routes.
Currently, more than 85% of Vueling’s new routes exceed the critical three-year mark, when a link is generally considered mature. Jordi Pla, Vueling’s director of networks and strategic planning, said the recognition “is proof of our commitment to improving the way the industry approaches long-term partnerships and collaborations”.
