Baleària, pioneer in Spain to receive the Green Marine environmental label
8 November, 2023Baleària is the first Spanish shipping company to receive the Green Marine Europe label, an ecological certification that recognises the commitment of maritime companies to eco-efficiency and care for the planet. So the company joins this voluntary initiative of the maritime industry whose objective is to improve the environmental performance of maritime transport beyond the regulatory requirements.
According to the shipping company, the initiative is focused on key environmental issues related to air, water and soil quality. And the resulting accreditation is a benchmark tool to facilitate the monitoring and improvement of the maritime companies’ commitment to decarbonisation.

We are a global benchmark shipping company in terms of sustainability thanks to our pioneering commitment to eco-efficient mobility, driven by the use of more environmentally friendly energies, such as natural gas”, said Rafael Rolo, Baleària’s corporate director of fleet operations.
