New airline to connect the Balearic Islands with seaplanes
22 November, 2023The Balearic company Isla Air Express has been working for several years on the permits to link the Balearic Islands with each other by seaplane flights. Now, it has just announced that it will soon be making test flights between the ports of Palma and Ibiza. Once the project is definitively launched, inter-island connections will be made, as well as with the Iberian peninsula.
In a first phase, they plan direct frequencies between Ibiza and Formentera, Ibiza and Mallorca and between Mallorca and Menorca. In a second phase, there will be more connections and the islands will be linked to Valencia and Alicante.
“By reintroducing this type of flight, we are once again presenting ourselves as a leading destination in the Mediterranean in terms of citizen services and tourism initiatives, as well as offering alternative means of transport, which [...] never suffice in our case. It is a project of national and international projection for the territory that hosts it”, said Isla Air Express.
