2 million British tourists arrived in Spain in October, up 22.4%

There were 9 million passengers from international airports who went to Spain in October, 13.4% more than the same month in 2022 according to data published by Turespaña. Between January and October, Spain received 82.2 million international passengers, an increase of 18.4% compared to the same period in 2022. Compared to the same pre-pandemic period in 2019, arrivals are slightly down by just 0.6%.

In October, passengers to Spain increased in all the main outbound countries and all markets showed notable increases, with notable growth of more than 17% in Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Ireland. So Italy experienced a year-on-year growth of 20.7%, the Netherlands 18.1%, Portugal 18% and Ireland 17.7%.

The United Kingdom with 2 million international passengers generated 22.4% of the total flow of arrivals to Spain in October, registering a year-on-year increase of 10.4%. The Balearic and Canary Islands were the communities that received the highest number of arrivals, as between them they accounted for 46.2% of the British arrivals in the country.
