Which Spanish hotel chain has the most Michelin stars?
27 December, 2023Barceló Hotel Group has established itself as the Spanish chain with the most Michelin-starred restaurants in Spain, seven to be precise, including the first green star in the Canary Islands. The archipelago actually has the highest number of awards, thus confirming its commitment to the new Canarian cuisine, as all the awarded chefs are originally from the region.
In this edition, the Canfranc Express restaurant received its first Michelin star, the original project of the gastronomic directors Eduardo Salanova and Ana Acín, located in the iconic Canfranc Estación establishment, a 5-star Grand Luxe Royal Hideaway Hotel in Huesca.
Canfranc Express is located in an old carriage refurbished with the aesthetics of the restaurant carriages that crossed Europe in the 1920’s. It is the most ambitious gastronomic project of the hotel inaugurated at the beginning of 2023 after the complete refurbishment of the historic Canfranc International Station in Huesca.
