British tourists have chosen Spain to welcome 2024
10 January, 2024Once again, this year confirms the tendency of the British to spend Christmas with their families and take advantage of their end-of-year holidays to travel and discover new destinations. And according to the flight and hotel search engine Jetcost, flight searches for the end of the year 2023 increased by 20%, while those for hotels have increased by 24% compared to 2022.
And many of the British who spent this time of year away from home have chosen Spain as their destination, due to its splendid weather at this time of year, its cultural richness, customs and festivities, as well as the rich gastronomy, good hotels and infrastructure and cheaper prices than other countries.
So, as far as the destination of choice for the last holiday of the year is concerned, Spain is ahead of Italy, Portugal and France. The Spanish destinations which the British prefer were Alicante, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Malaga, Barcelona, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Madrid, Murcia and Ibiza.
