10 January, 2024

The largest and most diverse parrot reserve in the world, with species and ecosystems from the five continents, is located in Tenerife, Canary Islands. Loro Parque Fundación is firmly committed to the conservation of biodiversity and reinforces the role of modern zoological centres accredited as protectors of endangered fauna.

The park has been awarded the Plaque and Gold Medal for Tourist Merit by the Government of Spain and the Gold Medal of the Government of the Canaries among other awards. It has also been recognised with the Prince Felipe Award for Business Excellence and is the only zoo in Europe with the “Humane Certified” Animal Welfare Certification from the American Humane organisation. It has also been awarded the “WAZA Sustainability Award” by the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) for the most sustainable zoo in the world.

During over 50 years of history, Loro Parque has become, alongside the Poema del Mar aquarium, the Siam Park water park, the restaurant Brunelli’s and the Hotel Botánico and Oriental Spa Garden, the most reputable tourist entities in Tenerife and the must-see places in the Canary Islands.
