EasyJet will fly to Birmingham from its future base in Alicante

10 January, 2024

The easyJet airline will add a new link between Birmingham and the Spanish coastal city of Alicante once its new hub at El Altet is up and running in late March, complementing the connections it has already announced to Southampton, Newcastle and Belfast City.

This offer will allow the airline to offer 1.5 million seats during the 2024 summer season, an increase of around 10% compared to the same season in 2023. The launch of these ten new routes in total allows easyJet to double the connections available so far, thanks to the launch of its new base.

More specifically, El Altet is the airline’s fourth facility in Spain and will mean the creation of around 100 direct jobs between pilots and crew, thanks to the three aircraft based at Alicante Airport, according to company sources.
