Hosteltur publishes its annual report on MICE in Spain 2024
17 January, 2024Hosteltur magazine has published its annual monograph on the MICE sector in Spain for 2024, which can also be downloaded online in English. This is a basic tool to know the state of this tourism offer in the country and its constant evolution. The new edition is entitled ‘Congress tourism innovates and grows’.
The MICE sector is ahead of the rest. Congress, meeting, incentive and event tourism is among the privileged ones that, to a large extent, already in 2022 recovered pre-pandemic figures. At the close of 2023, the available data - still incomplete - is positive and solid, despite inflation, uncertainty and the geopolitical situation.
As an example of this, Spanish congress centres, the spearhead of activity, already had more attendees in 2022 than in 2019, while international associations such as AIPC and UFI place the total recovery of pre-pandemic activity in 2023. Trade fair calendars have also returned to normal earlier than in many other countries in the region.
