Meliá and Rafa Nadal will open Zel hotels in Madrid and Gerona
14 February, 2024Gabriel Escarrer, CEO of Meliá Hotels International, has confirmed the opening of four hotels of the Zel brand, launched with tennis player Rafa Nadal. The hotel brand will have a presence in Madrid and Tossa del Mar (Gerona), as a result of hotel conversions.
Escarrer has highlighted the “great reception” of the brand since its launch in December 2022 and after the opening of the first hotel in Mallorca, adding that the expansion is part of the strategic commitment to the luxury and premium segment. So in summer 2024, Zel Costa Brava in Tossa del Mar will open its doors.
It should be noted that the asset is owned by the Azora fund and is “an existing hotel, which was remodelled”. Like the Zel Palmanova, this 4-star hotel will also have a restaurant of the Beso brand. The brand will also be on Madrid’s Gran Vía, the result of the “reconversion of a hotel we have”.
