Airline seats from the UK to Spain soar by over 12%

The total number of seats scheduled by airlines this February on their international flights to Spain rises to over 7.2 million, a figure that represents a year-on-year increase of +16.4% compared to the 6.2 million seats offered on flights operated in the same month of 2023, according to the monthly report on air capacity forecast for the country from a selection of outbound tourism markets, prepared by Turespaña.

The supply is growing in double digits in the vast majority of markets, with increases in some cases of over 90 or 70%. In the case of the British market, Spain’s main tourist outbound source, it is up 12.4%, comparing the forecast number of seats in February 2024 with the data recorded on the same date in 2023.

Note that this monthly report includes the air capacity scheduled to Spain by airlines for this February from 20 outbound tourism markets which, together, represent 84.9% of the total forecast supply, based on the records of the Spanish Association for the Coordination and Facilitation of Slots (AECFA).
