Over 1,000 companies in Barcelona have certified their sustainability
6 March, 2024A total of 487 companies in the city of Barcelona and another 556 from the province have received new certifications from the Biosphere Sustainable Commitment, a seal that recognises good practice in sustainable management of tourism and service companies, according to Turisme de Barcelona.
The companies obtain the certification awarded by the Responsible Tourism Institute, based on the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations Agenda 2030. Of the 487 certified companies, the highest percentage belong to the accommodation category (46.9%), followed by restaurants (9.9%), Commerce and MICE (9.4% each) and travel agencies (10.4%).
