Hoteliers push for the remodelling of Playa de Palma
20 March, 2024The Playa de Palma Hotel Association (AHPP) has defended the urgent need to “decisively” promote the remodelling of this iconic tourist resort in Mallorca, while advocating joint collaboration between the administrations and the sector for responsible and respectful tourism in the Balearic Islands.
The employers' association advocates a public-private collaboration agreement to speed up the comprehensive remodelling of a mature destination like Playa de Palma, which is a benchmark and consolidated, “but all the actors involved must take responsibility for improving and dignifying the environment”, said the president of this organisation, Pedro Marín.
Along these lines, the spokesman for the association described as “very good news” the fact that the project for remodelling the lighting on the seafront of Playa de Palma has already begun, with an investment of 5.2 million euros, in an initiative agreed with the monitoring committee, which will contribute to a more sustainable and safer environment.
