Turespaña promotes cultural tourism on the centenary of Chillida's birth
17 April, 2024The Spanish Tourism Board (Turespaña) has launched an international campaign to raise awareness of the work of the artist Eduardo Chillida in celebration of the centenary of his birth. As well as attracting visitors, this campaign aims to position Spain as the preferred cultural destination for European tourists, especially among young people.
In conjunction with the Chillida Leku museum, Turespaña is joining the ‘Chillida 100’ programme to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Spanish artist Eduardo Chillida (1924-2002). It is doing so with an advertising campaign on social networks to attract young tourists with high purchasing power, higher education and interest in art and culture, gastronomy and luxury products.
The campaign will run for four weeks in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands. Creative input came from the Eduardo Chillida-Pilar Belzunce Foundation and consists of two 15-second videos that are being advertised on Meta (Instagram and Facebook) and Tik Tok.
