The Roca Brothers’ haute cuisine moves to a castle in Catalonia
15 May, 2024The Roca Brothers, owners of El Celler de Can Roca, in Catalonia, which in 2013 was declared the best restaurant in the world, are opening Esperit Roca on 16 May at the Castell de Sant Julià de Ramis, where you can visit an area that will showcase the family’s creative history and a cellar with 80,000 wines for laying down.
Specifically, it is an old military fortress built at the end of the 19th century on the Sants Metges mountain, located 10 kilometres from El Celler de Can Roca. It will bear the name Esperit Roca, the same name with which the family’s line of distillates has been christened, and will be run by Raúl Sillero, head chef at Mas Marroch to date.
The new restaurant’s menu will include a reinterpretation of the most iconic dishes in the history of El Celler de Can Roca. You’ll find apple and foie gras timbale, langoustine with mugwort and toasted butter, lobster parmentier with black chanterelles, and poularde pie with truffles and fresh herbs. And, to finish, the desserts of the confectioner brother, Jordi Roca.
