SmartRental wants to open 500 rooms in the Canary Islands this year

22 May, 2024

The SmartRental Group has announced its expansion in the Canary Islands in 2024 and the start of an “ambitious” growth plan in the archipelago. In fact, they are in an “advanced stage” to finalise the acquisition of a set of assets under its SmartRental brands in the south of Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

According to the company’s CEO, Carlos Escoda, the aim is to end the year with over 500 rooms on the islands. “We are aligning ourselves with the local strategies of local councils and town councils to update the hotel offer and give a new direction to many of the assets currently managed by independent operators,” said Escoda.

The acquisitions under negotiation include assets that are already in operation, with a total of 300 rooms. SmartRental Group already has one establishment in Las Palmas, but intends to grow and “become a major player in the area”.
