Spain remains the world leader in Blue Flags: 638 beaches
12 June, 2024The Blue Flag award, which recognises the best beaches every year for the good condition of the water, the high level of beach services and the safety of bathers, will be flown this summer on 638 beaches, making Spain the world leader for the last 30 consecutive years.
The Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (Adeac), promoter of the initiative, has published the data for 2024, where it highlights that Spain achieved a total of 18 blue flags more than last year:

- 638 for beaches (11 more than in 2023)
- 102 for marinas (5 more than in 2023)
- 7 for tourist boats (2 more than in 2023)
