Valencia is included among the world’s most sustainable destinations
12 June, 2024British magazine Wanderlust has published its annual The Travel Green List 2024, which selects initiatives and places that make a difference in sustainability. From over a thousand candidates from all continents, Valencia is one of the outstanding destinations in this edition, for placing sustainability at the heart of its tourism strategy and for its commitment to becoming an emission-neutral city.
The destinations are chosen by a jury of nine sustainability experts, who seek to provide their readers with inspiring and honest suggestions for their travels. Valencia is the only Spanish city on the list, of which only 15 are European destinations.
The councillor for Tourism, Innovation and Investment Attraction, Paula Llobet, expressed her satisfaction at València's inclusion on this green tourism list: “we want our city to be an ideal place for tourists who are increasingly more sustainable and more respectful of our environment, our customs and our heritage. And this recognition shows us that we are on the right track,” she explained.
