Three Spanish airlines in the European Top 10 for punctuality
19 June, 2024Leading airlines and airports around the world have once again improved the punctuality of their operations during the month of April, according to the On Time Performance (OTP) report from aviation monitoring firm Cirium. In Europe, three airlines from Spain dominated the Top 5 in the region, as well as the global and low cost segments.
In fact, the European Top 5 includes two Spanish airlines, achieving three of the five positions: Vueling in fourth place with an OTP of 87.18%, up from seventh place in March; and Iberia also moved up from eighth to fifth place this month with an OTP of 86.91%, an improvement of almost 2 points from March’s 85.17%. In addition, in the Europe region, fellow Spanish airline Air Europa also ranked seventh on the continent with an OTP of 84.58%.
After becoming Europe’s leader in punctuality in 2023, Iberia Express is once again at the top of the continent’s ranking with an OTP of 89.89%, an improvement of almost 6 points compared to last month, displacing Austrian Airlines from the position held for two months.
