Spanish restaurants top the world’s Top 5 for their quality
19 June, 2024The World’s 50 Best Restaurants have been revealed at a gala event held at the Encore Theatre at the Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Resort. This event, which creates great expectation in the gastronomic sector, has crowned a Spanish restaurant as the best in the world.
In contrast to 2023, when Central (Lima, Peru) took the top spot, this year it went to the Disfrutar restaurant in Barcelona. For the first time, Spain occupies the first two places on the list of 'The World's 50 Best Restaurants', as the Etxebarri steakhouse (Axpe, Vizcaya) climbs to second place from fourth. Furthermore, Diverxo (Madrid) is in fifth place.
The Disfrutar restaurant, open since December 2014 and headed by Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch, has moved from second to first place on this list. Located in the Eixample, just in front of the Ninot Market, its design is inspired by the Mediterranean and Barcelona.
