The city of Valencia (Valencian Community) has taken the first steps towards the implementation of the Zentropy MICE project, a European initiative aimed at fostering socio-economic development and green transition through a sustainable congress tourism model. This project counts on financing of 5.2 million euros and is 80% co-financed by European funds.

The main objective of this initiative is to address the impact of business tourism, congresses, meetings, incentives and events in the city, and is expected to officially start in December and run for four years. Planned actions include improvements in energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, waste management and information.

Valencia has been selected among 112 applications by the European Commission to deploy this initiative which has a budget of 5,252,306 euros and will be developed collaboratively by six partners: the City Council, the Palau de Congressos, Valencia Innovation Capital, the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia, the Visit Valencia Foundation and Khora Urban Thinkers.
