Rent-a-car fleets are growing in Spain's main tourist areas
26 June, 2024The car rental sector once again recorded another positive month with an increase of 32.19% in vehicle registrations - between passenger cars and commercial vehicles - during May, reaching 30,724 units, according to data from the MSI consultancy firm for FENEVAL, the Spanish federation of this activity.
Thus, the channel experienced a clear growth compared to the same month of the previous year, when registrations stood at 23,243 units. The performance in Spain's main tourist areas stands out, with 2,433 registrations in Andalusia, another 1,325 in the Canary Islands, 3,111 more in Catalonia, 2,006 in the Valencia region and 549 in the Balearic Islands.
The notable increase in registrations during May reflects the recovery and dynamism of the car rental market, driven largely by the reactivation of tourism and the increase in user demand for flexible and safe mobility," commented Juan Luis Barahona, executive president of FENEVAL.
