What’s new at Barcelona’s new cruise terminal?
3 July, 2024The president of the Port of Barcelona, Lluís Salvadó, has guaranteed that the new Terminal G for cruise ships, planned for 2027, will be “geared towards tourism with greater added value, thus reducing the number of cruise passengers passing through”. He guaranteed that it will contribute “to a more responsible, sustainable and exclusive tourism model”.
The spokesman stressed the Port of Barcelona’s commitment to decarbonisation and improved competitiveness. He pointed out that port-city integration and innovation are the other two “key” axes in the transformation of the infrastructure to boost sustainability and efficiency up to 2030.
Furthermore, Salvadó emphasised that Barcelona is one of the few ports connected to 200 other enclaves around the world and that the infrastructure is close to the airport and has a large logistics area and rail connection.
