The arrival of cruise passengers in Spanish ports grows by 6.6%

Between January and May, a total of 1,660 cruise ships called at Spanish ports, -5.7% compared with the same period in 2023; on the other hand, 4.18 million cruise passengers embarked and disembarked, an increase of 6.6%, according to Puertos del Estado.

The figures for May show that 1.22 million cruise passengers were registered, with the ports of Barcelona (4% increase), the Balearic Islands (5.3%), Las Palmas (11.9%), Santa Cruz de Tenerife (6%), Valencia (292%), Bahía de Cádiz (-4.4%) and Malaga (-18.9%) standing out as usual.

In the data supplied by the public body, some aspects stand out, such as the growth of A Coruña, of 44%, with 122,878 passengers compared to the 85,120 registered in the first five months of 2023; as well as that of Alicante, with 26%, going from the 58,060 cruise passengers registered between January and May of last year, which so far this year have become 73,165 visitors.
