Puy de Fou prepares a show about the resistance against Napoleon
24 July, 2024The Puy du Fou theme park continues to implement its development plan to increase its leisure offer. It has already received the go-ahead from the municipal technicians of the Toledo City Council to begin work on the construction of a new open-air area to house the show called 'Independencia'.
As its name suggests, the show will be based on the Peninsular War, with Toledo as the backdrop. At that historic moment in the 19th century, Spain had to defend itself against the French troops of Napoleon, who wanted to extend his empire into Spanish territory and gave the throne to his brother Joseph Bonaparte.
The grandstand to be built will have a capacity for 3,016 people, of which 30 seats will be for visitors with reduced mobility. The stands will be fan-shaped. This new show will join 'El Sueño de Toledo', 'El Misterio de Sorbaces' or 'A pluma y espada', among others. The novelty of this future show will be the notable presence of music by the performers.
