5 state-owned hotels (Paradores) of the Canary Islands will be renovated
31 July, 2024Paradores has announced that almost 9 million euros will be spent on improving the facilities and hotel equipment of the five Paradores of the Canary Islands in La Palma, Cañadas del Teide, Cruz de Tejeda, El Hierro and La Gomera. During the first six months of the year, the hotels received more than 24,000 clients and the occupancy rate was 75%.
The investments planned and underway at the five Paradores of the archipelago focus on structural works aimed at improving accessibility and energy efficiency. This budget will also be used to complete decorative works in rooms and common areas, swimming pools and terraces. In some cases, minimal temporary closures are planned to ensure employee and client safety.
The funds come from a direct investment by Paradores, contributions by Turespaña and financing from European funds from the Spanish Government's Recovery Plan. These investments "help us to be more sustainable and attract tourism of increasingly higher quality, while contributing to the economic and social development of the territories where we are present", Paradores commented.
