Spain has received 7% more cruise passengers in the first six months

The volume of cruise passengers arriving in Spanish ports from January to last June has grown by 7%, reaching 5.3 million, compared to 4.95 million in the same period of 2023. Last June saw a significant rebound in cruise passengers, with slightly more than 1.1 million, while in the same period of 2023, one million passengers arrived.

As reported by Puertos del Estado, the 6.2% increase in passenger arrivals in Barcelona, which is a base for numerous cruise ships, stands out, reaching 1.46 million passengers. Significant increases were also recorded in the ports of the Canary Islands, 12.7% in Las Palmas, with 954,388 cruise passengers, and 7% in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with 655,294 recorded.

In the Balearic Islands the evolution was 3.7%, with the number of stopover visitors standing at 952,670. Among the other ports receiving cruise ships, Valencia stands out, which has experienced a growth in the arrival of these passengers of 11.5%, reaching 305,661 visitors.
