Travel to Spain is increasingly being booked in advance

28 August, 2024

48% of trips to Spain are booked more than two months in advance, according to Sojern's latest “Travel Outlook” report. According to the same digital marketing platform for tourism professionals, the Top 15 destinations in Europe most chosen by European travellers this summer include four destinations in Spain.

The duration of stays shows a predominance of 4 to 7 days (32.66%) and 8 to 14 days (27.66%). Traveller profiles include: individuals (33.6%), couples (29.6%) and families (36.6%). Sojern also notes a trend towards a "more even distribution of trips to Spain throughout the year". In addition to the peaks seen in February, March and the summer months, "a growing interest in travelling in December" is noted.

According to Jesús Ramírez Medina, commercial director of Sojern's Hotels division, "forward planning, longer stays and increased bookings for the year-end period underline Spain's continued attractiveness, cementing its position as one of the most desirable destinations by 2024."
