ETIAS: How much will the travel permit cost and how long will it last

4 September, 2024

The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is expected to launch in mid-2025, months after the launch of the EES on November 10. As a result, non-EU tourists will need this permit to travel to Europe next summer. British tourists are primarily concerned about the cost of the document and its period of validity.

According to the European Union, the price of the ETIAS will be €7 for a document valid for three years. In other words, all travel to EU countries during this period will be covered by the same permit.

It should be noted that this fare will apply to all passengers between 18 and 70 years of age, while those under 18 and over 70 will be exempt from paying it. According to the authorities, this means that the amount paid will be used to cover the operating costs of the system itself.
