Spanish campsites confirm their “extraordinary” summer

11 September, 2024

The Spanish Federation of Campsites (FEEC) says that the summer has been “extraordinary”. The forecast is to match last year’s 6.3 million travellers and almost 30 million overnight stays. It is worth highlighting the momentum of this activity since mid-July, which has been maintained until the last days of August.

The Federation’s forecast for the first week of September is good. As in 2023, customers have reduced their consumption in catering and complementary activities, thus being able to extend their stay, the Federation pointed out.

The FEEC has clarified that the average occupancy this summer was similar to 2023, between 85 and 90%, and was increasing month by month, with a regular first fortnight of July (65%), a very good second (80%) “and an extraordinary month of August, with hundreds of campsites at 100%”.
