Balearic Islands announces important sustainability measures
9 October, 2024The president of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohens, has announced that she will adopt “forceful and courageous decisions” to improve the situation of tourism sustainability in the archipelago, both from an environmental and social point of view. She said this at a dinner held on 25 September at the Círculo de Economía de Mallorca.
Later, on her X profile, Marga Prohens published a post commenting on her participation in the meeting with entrepreneurs and said she was in favour of “moving towards sustainability and the well-being of all residents”. “We must transform our model with courageous measures, essential before the next season, to redirect the future of our islands from a shared roadmap,” she said.
The president considers that the changes in the Balearic Islands must go through a process of re-industrialisation, in which the business sector must play a vital role, and to which the government must contribute by attracting investment and innovation. This is precisely what her proposal for administrative simplification is about, she said.
