The most booked destinations in Spain during the summer
16 October, 2024The Balearic Islands, Barcelona and Madrid top the ranking of destinations with the most hotel bookings in Spain in summer 2024. Analysis of the average daily rate (ADR) shows that international tourists paid 5.7% more for their stays this year. In addition, the average stay was 4.3 nights and bookings were made on average 64 days before arrival.
According to data compiled by the B2B platform TravelgateX, the top three destinations recorded double-digit annual growth. So the Balearic Islands experienced a rise in bookings of 11.3%, followed by the province of Barcelona with 15% and Madrid with 21%; in turn, the province of Malaga grew by 7.4% and Santa Cruz de Tenerife by 18.6%.
Finally, another Catalan province, Gerona, experienced an increase in bookings of 23.3% and another Andalusian province, Huelva, also saw this index grow by 2.8%. The average daily rate of Spanish hotels during the summer of 2024 stood at €179, according to the average of the 10 most booked destinations, which is 5.3% higher than last year’s figure for the same period.
