Advance hotel bookings indicate a good winter in Spain
16 October, 2024Advance bookings for hotel accommodation in Spain three months from now continue to rise and indicate a very positive winter for the Spanish tourism sector. This increase takes place in an international context marked by the escalation of war in the Middle East.
Data released by the B2B platform TravelgateX for the last week of September indicate that the Basque Country, with 37%, followed by Catalonia, with 26%, and the Valencian Community, with 22%, are the regions with the highest increase compared to the previous week. Likewise, the growth is similar compared to last year.
With regard to the rest of the more touristic regions, the boom in bookings distinguishes the Region of Madrid, with 19% and Castilla y León and Aragón, with 15% each; followed by Andalusia with 11%, the Canary Islands with 10% and the Balearic Islands with 7% variation. As for the profile of the tourists, 53% are couples, 26% singles, 12% families and the remaining 6% groups.
