Two Spanish airports in the Top 25 low-cost megahubs worldwide

They currently operate one third of all seats offered by the airline industry worldwide and dominate markets in some cities and regions of the world. But where exactly are the best-connected low-cost airports in the world?
The Top 25 low cost airports with the most connections is dominated by Asia, the world region with the highest number of low cost airlines, in this case, with 16 airports; followed by Europe, with six infrastructures in the ranking, two of them in Spain.
Barcelona-El Prat is the first in Europe and the highest ranked European airport, in eighth place and Vueling dominates low-cost airline capacity, with a 73% share. It is the dominant airline at El Prat, operating 41% of the airport’s total capacity. The other is Palma de Mallorca, with Ryanair leading with a 23% share.
