3 Spanish wineries to be among the best in the world in 2024

20 November, 2024

The World’s Best Vineyards awards recognise the 50 best wineries in the world each year. In 2024, eight of those that complete the list are Spanish and three of them have positioned themselves in the top ten. This prestigious ranking highlights the unique experiences offered by these vineyards, valuing their landscapes, stories, restaurants and even the tour of the grounds.

Therefore, in the Top 5 are two benchmarks of wine tourism in Spain, both in the Rioja Alavesa. First place goes to the Bodegas de los Herederos de Marqués de Riscal, whose main building was designed by Frank Ghery. It has been producing its wines since 1862 and has had a luxury hotel and Michelin-starred restaurant since 2011.

And in eighth place is Abadía Retuerta, a winery in Castilla y León founded in 1146, which is also one of the most unique five-star hotels in Spain and opened in 2012. It is surrounded by 700 hectares of vineyards in Sardón del Duero.
