European City of Wine 2025 : again a Spanish location
4 December, 2024The European Network of Wine Cities (Recevin), of which the Spanish Association of Wine Cities (Acevin) is a member, has chosen Zaragoza municipality’s of Cariñena as the European City of Wine 2025. The decision was made public this week following the presentation of the nominations at the European Parliament in Brussels.
Recevin has highlighted the “suitability of the proposal presented by Cariñena, which, moreover, has integrated the historical, cultural and heritage facets of the territory into the project from a very broad and original point of view”. Each year, a city related to wine production and culture is selected as a member of the network.
Applications must have a European dimension and demonstrate creativity, following criteria such as the strengthening of awareness-raising activities in wine culture, the involvement of the maximum number of economic and social actors of the territory or the creation of a catalyst project for the development of the city.
