Marbella will have a new luxury resort with suites and branded residencies
11 December, 2024The Platinum States group has received final approval from the Junta de Andalucía for the Las Dunas Club project, which will become a luxury resort in which €350 million will be invested. The management contract signed with Marriott stipulated the opening of the first W Hotels on the Costa del Sol.
However, it has finally been decided to upgrade the category, so it will operate as St. Regis or The Ritz-Carlton, according to Spanish press reports. The newly approved proposal does not include two tourist apartment towers and there are fewer hotel rooms and residences.
Following the final approval of the modification of elements of the General Urban Development Plan (PGOU) 86 of Marbella of the URP-AL-G ‘Las Dunas Club’ sector, which was prolonged for 8 years, a 5-star luxury hotel with 186 rooms and 180 branded residences will be built.
