Andalusia seeks to improve connectivity with European hubs

11 December, 2024

On 2 December, the Andalusian Regional Government convened a new edition of the Fly Andalusia Summit, where the region’s air connectivity and, in particular, how to improve it, was discussed. The meeting is a forum for debate with the participation of representatives from major airlines, administrations and experts from the airline industry.

Specifically, this year’s event was attended by representatives of easyJet, Vueling, Iberia Express, Jet2, Aena, ALA, CEOE, Turespaña, the Andalusian Ministry of Tourism, the Andalusian Confederation of Businessmen (CEA) and several advisors specialising in aeronautics and airport development.

The Junta’s plan includes improving connectivity with European hubs. Although the Spanish region is very well connected, the aim is to improve intermodality, especially in the transits between Seville and Malaga, where stronger rail connections are being studied.
