Tourism turnover in Spain exceeds 200 billion euros
18 December, 2024“Once again Spanish tourism is recording record figures, with an estimated volume of international tourists of around 95 million - compared to 85 million last year - and a turnover of over 200 billion euros, which will represent a historic contribution to GDP of over 13%”, explained Juan Molas, president of the Tourism Board.
Molas also stressed that tourism is once again a strategic sector of the Spanish economy, able to generate sustained wealth, employment and stability. And, by 2025, if the trend is consolidated, it will be in a position to surpass the barrier of 3 million affiliated workers, marking a new milestone.
As for the most outstanding aspects of the 2024 financial year, the Tourism Board draws attention to a qualitative factor: the significant advances in the deseasonalisation of tourism activity, an objective long pursued by the sector, whereby efforts and strategies mobilised over the years are finally being rewarded.
