Hotels at Madrid and Barcelona airports will be put out to tender this year
11 April, 2025Aena will invite tenders before the end of the year for projects to build new hotels on the perimeter of Madrid and Barcelona airports. The future establishments will be built on land leased by the airport operator, as part of its strategy to extend the range of services offered to passengers and to position Spanish airports as European benchmarks.
The initiative is part of a broader strategic plan that also includes the development of hotel assets at Malaga, Seville and Valencia airports. These projects are included in the framework of investments planned by Aena for the period 2027-2031, which will represent an annual volume of over 1 billion euros.

With these new hotels, Aena seeks to facilitate access to quality accommodation integrated into the airport environment, offering greater comfort to travellers in transit, those arriving at night or those travelling on business.
The tender represents a key step in improving the passenger experience and transforming airports into areas with a more complete service offer connected to the needs of today’s travellers.
