Four Spanish hotel companies and their key sustainability projects in 2025
18 June, 2025Four chains and one hotel reveal their most representative sustainability initiatives.
Casual Hoteles has already planted 1,000 trees in its Casual Forest in Teruel, thanks to the voluntary waiver of the cleaning service by its guests, an action that absorbs CO₂ and generates rural employment. Vincci Hoteles has launched the Circular Rice project, which converts the coffee grounds from Nespresso capsules into fertiliser to grow rice in the Ebro Delta, an ingredient it then uses for dishes identified in its restaurants in seven cities.

Paradores participates in the “1m2 against litter” campaign, organising waste collection points in 12 locations and promoting the involvement of employees and customers in the conservation of the natural environment. Grupo Piñero is making progress in its plan to eliminate single-use plastics, already avoiding 200 tonnes of waste per year. Its strategy includes replacement of materials, redesign of services, awareness campaigns and environmental protection actions in destinations such as Tenerife, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Finally, Six Senses Ibiza promotes direct guest involvement through workshops at Earth Lab and agricultural activities at The Farm, integrating sustainability into the client experience and supporting the local community.
